Police arrested a former head, former deputy head and an incumbent director of the Professional Golfers' Association of Japan on Saturday for allegedly fabricating the minutes of a members' meeting last year so to manipulate the group's leadership election, police officials said. Chikara Nagata [align=right] and the two others, all professional golfers, are charged with faking a document and using it in an attempt to give Nagata an edge in his efforts to be reelected association head.

Mainichi: PGA board member abducted by suspected yakuza
A board member of the scandal-tainted Professional Golfers' Association of Japan (PGA) was abducted by a group of men believed to be gangsters on the day on the association's presidential election, investigators said. The abduction came to light during a criminal investigation into the forgery of a PGA board members election record. Kanagawa Prefectural Police suspect that former PGA Vice President Hideo Ishii, 52, who supported former President Chikara Nagata's bid for re-election may have been involved in the abduction...more...

The fellas have been around and had a hand in, or behindm the JPGA since its inception. They were also heavily involved in the initial stages of the golf course construction and ownership boom!
