Apple filed a patent application document dated July 5 that refers to a multifunctional handheld device with a circular touch pad control, similar to the Nano's scroll wheel. Interestingly, he suggests taking an Airport Express unit on trips to Japan, he stayed in hotels with free internet via an ethernet port in the rooms, but no wireless, so he plugged in the Airport and instantly had wireless access.
