I don't know whether holding is illegal or not, but I can understand why the Korean bird is averting her eyes because if I realized I was being held by such a grotesque-looking woman, I'd be pretty scared. (Unless I was in Gas Panic, in which case I would know that I had scored, especially if she's that ugly!)
