VLC 2 OSX (is a piece of shit)

Postby Coligny » Thu Feb 23, 2012 6:49 pm

After few days of testing... I've reached the conclusion that finally the VLC team reached their goal:

Making Apple default Quick Time Player look like a better alternative than anything else on the market these days...

They even managed to fuck up the volume controls, now it's like driving on ice... you move the slider and 10 seconds after the volume raise or lower... animation is most of the time choppy... image quality below average... still impossible to play more than 1 movie at a time and they mimicked ITunes interface to include music and picture library. So now not only it screw up its intended purpose of playing movies but it can also screw up playing music and displaying pictures which is the last thing that was needed on Macs your are fitted with ITunes and IPhotos (like them or not, they do the job...)

(Tested on an IMac 2.93 Ghz Intel Core I7 with 12GB of ram)

I sort of already answered that question last year:

http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forums/showthread.php?p=266758#post266758

but with little more training i managed to reach up to 11 movies at the same time (10 if you don't count the hunt for red october as pron, but 12 if you put topgun into gaypron)

So revert to an earlier version.

But if we did that, then what would we have to complain about then?

Try to read modern MKV with vlc 0.8.4a and tell me your success stories...

Have they resolved the problem with dual monitor support?

True. I couldn't get it to work so I reverted to an old version. I only use it for playing FLAC files or the occasional video that doesn't play on quicktime...
