When he's not in the Ken Tanaka mode, he really is Spooge, from Breaking Bad. How cool is that?omae mona wrote:GomiGirl wrote:What is the poop on the Ken Tanaka dude? .
Ken Tanaka is the alter ego of real life comedian David Ury...

Threadjack here, and I hope it doesn't divert too far or cause too much disruption, but my response to this is always "... because ethnicity of entrants is crucial to record.... " I think this all helps to perpetuate racist thinking and I can't wait for the day that ethnicity (and gender) are as notable and comment-worthy as eye colour. I am also a realist and know that this is not going to happen anytime soon, but is it really necessary to have people identify themselves all the time? The first time I went to the US on business, my nationality still had to apply for a visa in advance, and there were race questions. That was, quite frankly, shocking to me, aside from not knowing what they meant by Hispanic, not knowing whether I should be correctly identified as white or pacific islander, and wondering what difference it made anyway. If it hadn't been an official form (which incidently asked me whether I have aunts or uncles in the US, presumably to see if I am at risk of illegal overstaying) I would have answered "human" to their race question.

I sometimes worry about my girls. Already they are picking up my caustic attitude. My oldest was talking to one girl saying she was a crazy jap who couldn't think for herself.... I was freaking shocked.
Even though they are hafus they get frustrated at the group think.

I am actually not certain what the conversation was about. But it sure got the teacher's attention. I was called into a conference because of it. Doesn't matter anyways though, I'm pulling her out of school. July is her last month.

No, he's fundamentalist (insert cult name here)....she's in Grade 3 and that's more than enough school for a girl.

So, it is OK for Johnny Depp to be Tonto?

Pretty close lol... 2nd grade. Actually its a private school she's attending, payed for by Grandaddy Warbucks. I'm extremely unimpressed with her progress. Before attending school I was teaching her 3 digit multiplication and division, she was writing letters to people in other countries, had a friend of mine teaching her Mandarin Chinese. Went to Kumon for kana and Kanji, and sent her to kickboxing and piano courses to keep her well rounded. Age 6 She goes to a "good" private school for 2 years and forgets everything. She started off 1st in her class now she's dead center and developed an attitude. (the latter is probably my fault)
All I told the wife was that we would send her to figure skating courses in stead of private schools and she was on board. Now the wife thinks our daughter is gonna be Mao or something.
