This just popped up on one of my FB accounts:

in which Microsoft generously offers "up to 10,000 yen cashback" for anyone trading an iPad for a nice shiny Surface RT.

For some reason this generous offer has not met with a resounding welcome.

This despite their fabulous marketing videos.

Still use mine for music, movies, and navigation when in the US (nice to see where you're going on a bigger screen) but I can't use it for much else without it crashing.

Pretty awesome ad campaign though. They certainly make the form factor very attractive.

But I notice they don't talk much about the OS capabilities.

Even the sweat shop android tablet maker must have been laughing at this crap...

I'm a programmer by trade and I've not even heard off a Surface RT. :-/
I was a very, very late adopter of the iPad though, and never bothered until I had to do video chat daily for work.

But you can't put google maps on those i think ?
