LOL, I knew that guy. Just in Japan, I did not know the real meaning of his name.

It's far more likely his name was written 猪俣.

and i heard its also one of popular ones for zainichi-korean to use as their J-name, especially in kansai area.

Just come out of the closet as a Chosen-jin already.

Since 長 in Hasegawa looks similar to and is pronounced the same as the Chinese character for the common Korean family name Jeong (張), it wouldn't surprise me. Also, though it's not so common, Janggok (長谷) is also a Korean family name according to Wikipedia.

so seems like chinese fellows LMFAO when they see 猪something japanese sir name.

The Chinese are right since a 豚 and an 猪 are the same species.

Not funny in any language.

It is, but in his case it was 猪股. I checked it on the interwabs.

"Joke" in the sense of yanking someone's chain in an annoying way. You had to be there...

But German humour, yeah.

It gets some additional flavor of humor once one realizes that "hase" sounds like the German "Hasse", which means hate or hatred.

Suddenly, I wish I'd be there...

"Hasse" is, oddly enough, not an uncommon surname in Germany.

Gawd this is hilarious.

Don't tell me you also had a Japanese aquaintance there with the surname 人羅...

Stupid Japanese (Pet) names?

Friend's cat passed away and she had it cremated and was patiently awaiting her listing on this site:

http://nemurinosato.com/maisou/

Pomeranian named "Pome-chan", Hamster named "Hamu-chan", who says Japanese aren't creative?

Muku, Chatta, Mitsuru, Jin, Hermes, Apollo Mmmmmmkay?

Shaank? Tonini? Milk? Marron? ChooChoo? (Start of a new game...named by toddlers or Japanese?)

Pele? Sena? hahahaha "Get the ball pele!!"

(Yeah, I know there's a special place in hell for me having a laugh at their dead pet names)

My sister in law named her first kid LaLa. We thought it a little strange but what the heck. Her second kid came along and she named it LiLi. We are waiting for #3 to come along to see if she names it LuLu.

True - or perhaps I should add the adverbial phrase "even more than usual" to "daft as a brush".
