Have you tried any used shops?
I usually got to Hard-Off a few times a month just to see what is available. I have seen many PS2s. The prices there aren't real cheap but they usually clean things up and make sure they work.

The two I usually go to are in Machida, Hashimoto, and Kobuchi (JR Yokohama line). Some stores are larger and has a higher turn over of stuff.
I have also been to one in Fujisawa and they all have about the same stuff.

Research what the other places are charging though because sometimes Hard Off is not that cheap.

ooph, that's a bit far, I have a run down to akihabara, generally they go for about 14,000.

I'm not fussed about condition, controllers or packaging, so hopefully the above, coupled with the lack of overheads in a person to person trade make a 10,000 Yen asking price reasonable. Or not?
