An ungodly number of Japan-related websites seem to be infested with these personal ads featuring the invariable almond-eyed Asian vixen, sometimes wearing what appears to be a negligee.
They help pay bandwidth bills, and that's cool, but what piques my curiousity is: what proportion of the gals in these "personals" are actually hu-ers?

OK, I had the same damn question when I had lunch with the "Friends" representives after using their service on my website. They laughed and explained how it works.
A couple hundred, "almond-eyed Asian vixen" are culled from their Friends database of thousands of photos..... but yes they are "real."
That sounds bad, but actually most Japanese women have a couple of "good" photos on hand for omiai purposes. Judging from SNS sites like mixi (and the one I work for), if the girl or guy uses a photo of themselves on an SNS site, it's always a "Good" one and therefore you see the "Asian vixen" effect of a projected image over reality. Japanese girls spend their life-capital trying to tart up for effect.

Omoshiroi. It appears most J-chicks' idea of a "good" photo is one taken from a slight angle in order to give them a doe-eyed anime-character appearance.
