Good places to skateboard in Tokyo

Postby Greener » Fri Dec 09, 2005 1:55 am

I'm looking for a place to skate now that I'm more settled in Tokyo. Does anyone know any good skateparks indoor or outdoor?

Tips on good skateshops in town would be great too!

Where do you stay? The kids over at Fatbros in Nakano are cool. There are loads of parks to be had in Tokyo, and lots of sick spots that you will recognize from alot of skate vids in central Tokyo. But not many of them are skateable unless you are gnar gnar and don't mind being chased by the police every 30 min. The trade shows are fun when they are in town.. I actually skate west of Tokyo in Ome and Hachioji. Though not as much as I used to.. I hate having a job!

I live in Asakusa but most of my work is in Yokohama. (I'm a substitute teacher when I'm not writing so I go where the work is.) I have heard great things about Tokyo's sk8 scene but just don't know where to look. Since I don't have a board and will have to get a new or used one, I'll need to find some skateshops too.

Thanks for the info though!
