Japanese Fire Fighters to Study Chinese

Japanese firefighters may study Chinese methods of crisis management. Spokesman Mr Yamakaji, in reference to the (above) picture stated "The Chinese have big problems with burning rings. They have found the best way to deal with burning rings is to put in a big German dog.

We Japanese don't have much burning ring problem, but this may change with more foreigners entering here.

We must learn other ways to stop burning rings, from our old traditional way - using big bamboo poles."

So, for now, perhaps FG's should avoid hot Chinese rings while in Japan, unless of course there is a large German dog nearby, or a Japanese fireman with a large pole.

The last burning ring I met was in Roppongi and it took two shots to cure that!
I recommend using the dog! Veterinarians are cheaper than the International Clinic!

I've always been disappointed that nobody seems to understand a
Chinese fire drill.

You mean like in standard Chicago usage such as: "I've been to two Chinese fire drills and the molestation of a young goat and have never been this confused!"?

I've heard of & seen such madness but I didn't know there was a name for it!

As kids, we used to do the "Chinese Downhill" (a no-rules ski/board race down a mountain) but my brother & I were always more interested in knocking eachother over, or sending the other one into the trees, than actually getting to the bottom in a hurry.

Fortunately, no burning rings or large German dogs were required.
