[quote="kurohinge1"]A street race.

But is a "racist" in favour of, or against, racing?

English is tricky.

lol, but either way it would still be full of racists! :)

Think about the French riots from a few months back, that was much much worse than what happened here. In Australia, the media hypes things amazingly well. These situations in some instances were majorly over exagerated. Some of it was well televised, but in general Australia is pretty safe.

LEBANESE SUCK !!! THEY DESERVE WHAT THEY GET. Even the Chinese, Vietnamese etc want to fuck them up. . . .

Australians racism is more of a pointless racism. . eg going down the street. . . "hey you stoopid gook" etc. . big deal.

Whereas Japans indirect racism is just fucked up, its quiet, but affects you with shit like finding an apartment, no entry to certain clubs etc etc. .

But this world is fucked up anyway. just gotta live it like its your last day.

Approaching this tension agressivly is counter-productive...

Sorry, I should have said South Sydney. And I don't want to people's asses kicked because because they're Lebanese, but because they are dickheads.

This "event" was a full-scale riot. The "issue" is racism. And beating the crap out of anyone who looked middle eastern was the last resort of a desperate community because their leaders are scared to death of talking about it.

I just want to end by saying that I am racist, but I try not to let it effect the way I view other people. BTW I'm black. No I'm not.

Sydney riot.

What started it off was the life guards got beaten up by a group that were playing soccer on the beach and causing a disturbance. When told to play where there were less people - they decided to go crazy.
A lot of people were pissed off about this - so on what was supposed to be a celebration of Australia, a whole heap of red necks went cranzy, and decided to beat up people of lebanese or middle-eastern appearance.

The thing is in both instances, the innocent were beaten up. More than racism it was a case of mass hysteria fuelled by racial studpidity.

With Japan - I think it's the same. Racial intent isn't present, but things that can be viewed as racist often occur, fuelled most of the time by shear ignorance.
I broke a mirror this morning, which means I should be getting 7 years of bad luck - but my lawyer says he can get me 5.
