I was just checking through some old personal records.
I first set foot ashore in Japan (Moji) in September 1958.
Actually, that was on a tramp ship, I didn't start living here permanently until 1966.
Some things sure have changed.

But from the Black Ships era to today, YBF is as ageless as time itself.:D :D :D

Ditto. Just change the 10 to an 8. Would have been 16 if I had stuck around.

Yeah, it may seem like a long time, but it passed like it was only a few weeks.
I still get the urge when I see an attractive woman, to skip the light fandango.
I also still feel pangs to skip the light fantastic on seeing the fine lines of a deep sea cargo vessel.
But I console myself with a cup of hot cocoa before bed and a bowl of 'okayu' for breakfast.
Enjoy it all when you can young fellas, I did, and don't regret anything.:D

i first came in 1995 or 6.. don't quite remember. by then i'd been wanting to come for awhile as i'd been studying the language and learning all about particles.

the following year i came on a whv and worked in my now father-in-law's fish store during the day and studying on my own at night. i came to stay in march of 1999, directly to these same boonies and never looked back. even though recently i've been considering my options, i think i may be a lifer.

I heard of that tub before. That was old Anjin at his best. It was tougher working for Frankie and Johnnie, his partner.

But, if pictures are to judge, you did much better than me. You know how it is with old salts, youse can get too weak on ink.....

If all he saw in the post was the picture, he might want to check my post, cause there ain't no sense in trying to explain it....

Dimmer, no one gets sent to jail for 30 years for practicing the national pastime....

Besides, Judges would be afraid to attach such a long sentence as someone might get mad and produce a list of "contributions" the Judge has received...

30 years later sonny, and of course I know that they get suspended sentences unless of course they reveal the names of their contributors and then they are merely suspended.

They mention the right name and the whole case goes away beyond any record:p
