What is this japanese whiskey drink?

OK, this might sound a little naive, but I have a lot of faith in you guys on this forum, because you really helped me out with that Osaka Evening song.

So I want to know what that drink was. I am very good myself at mizuwari (i.e., the art of mixing whiskey with mineral water and ice), but there is another famous drink that I have trouble looking up online now.

There is whiskey, ice, and mineral water involved, but there is also lemon. I was at an izakaya one night with someone special, and he mixed it. I only remember the above ingredients, but he also mentioned "pouring a lot of feeling" into it.

I have no way to return to Japan or to contact him in the foreseeable future, but I would really like to know what that drink was. Fixing it and drinking it would really help relieve my suffering. This is a rather popular drink in Japan, please advise what it is.

It sounds like a Highland Sling:

1 tsp superfine Sugar
Water and Ice
Touch of Lemon juice
Whisky
Lemon twist/slice

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the sugar, water, lemon juice, and Scotch. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.
