Japanese corporate gobbledygook

Postby Bucky » Tue Aug 04, 2009 7:53 am

I was doing some research on the web and a U.S. company I am looking at hasa company in Nagano that is their Japanese representative. Oh, I see that the Japanese company has an English version of their site so I am curious just what they claim to do. So here are their Corporate Mission and Corporate Statement.

CORPORATE MISSION
The personality foundation of our Mabuchi S&T group is kindness to others and sincerity. The goal is to harmonize our intentions, to pursue professionalism, to create happiness of all people surrounding us in physical and spiritual aspects by our own hands, and then to make a contribution to our society.

and here is their statement:
MISSION STATEMENT
We, Mabuchi S&T group, aim at impressing our customers by providing and offering truly valuable products while keeping our global business viewpoint. We also intend to improve the corporate profit and continuous enhancement, and to become an enterprise to which energetic human resources come together.

I realize it may not be exactly possible to always tell what a company does from their mission statement, but this seems to border on ridiculous.

Feel free to add your only examples of Japanese website nothing-ness.

They make lens polishing machines and related bit and pieces, right? Took me a while to figure that out, but their mission statements were no help at all. My initial impression was they're some kind of religious group.
