Making a Chinese 50cc legal

Postby Sarutaro » Thu Apr 29, 2010 3:53 pm

In my garage I've had a Chinese no-name miniature 50cc motorbike lying around for a few years (the kind that will most likely fall apart after one week). It's never been used (still in its original box). Now, I'm thinking of starting using it. The problem is how to make it legal, i.e. get a license plate. I don't have a Manufacturers Certificate of Origin and I have no clue about the frame number (if there even is one). Anyone know how to?

And, no, it's not stolen.

is it a pocket bike? i think in america its next to impossible to legalize these unless it has all the proper lights. Jland... I have no idea. fuck it, just ride it anyway, if the cops try to pull you over just ride through one of japans many super-tight alleys.
I love the Power Glove... It's so bad.

Well, it has all lights. I'll try and snap a photo of it later.

By the way, it is a "POKEBAI", but has all necessary lights, speedo etc. I guess it's nearly impossible to register here in Japan, though. If I'm wrong, please let me know!

NFC (like in no fuckin clue)... But if their minibikes are as reliable as their RC-Nitro engines, you might spend more time registering it than using it before it dies on you in a puddle of various fluids...

Local police driving test center certainly haz the answer...

Tell me about it. The welds look like they were made by a 3-year old and the electrical wiring runs right next to the exhaust pipe.

You probably could register it if it has all the necessary stuff on it. And no offense but, why??? Why not a Honda Today or something in those lines? I almost got one while I was in country. Actually I regret not getting one.

Actually, it was a gift from a relative. If I could register it, I would, but without any papers from the manufacturerer it's probably not worth the trouble...
