Nihon ni kimasho....

Postby hanasims » Mon Aug 11, 2003 4:17 am

I am considering moving to Japan with my Japanese girlfriend. Currently we are in America. The thing is, we have a dog. Her mother is very wealthy and has said the dog can stay with her, I am not sure this is a good idea. Is it possible to get an apartment that allows dogs? I have gotten mixed messages on this subject.

get ready for hell! Quarantine, shots, health check-ups, 5000 yen per pill for falaria pills:

FALARIA is an infectious parasite endemic to much of the developing world. Transmitted by mosquitoes, the worms live in the lymphatic system, causing the blood vessels to enlarge. Diethlycarbamazine citrate can kill the microfilaria, but not always the adult worm. Falaria causes river blindness, elephantiasis and Loa loa.

:D
I have a dog, and got the dog in Japan. They are trouble but well worth it. As for the mother, I wouldn't trust her. Old timers seem to treat animals a little more meanly here than they do back in the states. that is just an observation. I've seen old people kick and punch dogs.. hit them with sticks, etc...
especially farmers and their wives..
:P

you can find apartments that cater to pet people, but it may cost you a bit more.
