Passport re-entry requirements

How long do you need left on your passport to re-enter Japan (Im hoping its not 6months)My UK passport expires next month and I was just starting the process of re-newal, however today I just got the news I have to go on a trip abroad(Bit sudden:( ).The trip is only 3 days and I have a visa which is still valid for another 2 years. Will Narita let me in or will this be a problem?

I am assuming you are based here in Japan and you are wanting to go out and come back in. You have a current reentry permit stamp as well as a current visa.

So as long as your visa, reentry permit and passport are all valid you are good to go until the expiry date.

Note when you get a new passport, just carry the old one around with you until you get the visa switched over. Then head down to immigration when you get a chance and get the stamps moved over.

Now I am no expert in immigration so remember that any free advice you get over the internet is only worth as much as you paid for it. So don't sue me if you have any issues.
