I guess it's just me, but I cannot fathom the attraction to this band. I heard them on the radio a lot when I was in the US this summer, and I can't stand them. It sounds like wannnabe 70's garage band music to me.

Not trying to rain on your parade though. I know how rare it is for a band you like to come to this side of the world. have fun! :)

That's true, but they're so good at it! They don't mimic Zeppelin but at the same time they're exactly the same. It's weird. But it was Keith Richards who said that rock'n'roll is just recycled trash.

Assking,
I agree at one time they sound like Zepplin, but then they really don't. The guitar/drum combination rocks.. that girl can taiko to hell!

How could you not like them? I mean, unless you are an Nsync fan or something like that.. LMAO..

Their sound is clean, but not digitally clean like a lot of the bands these days.. it sounds natural.. and I just like it. 7 nation army is one hella good song, the rhythm in that song is like one serious trick of hypnotic guitar playing.. how can you not get that beat into your brain..

First time I heard them was on MTV on the late night.. before they hit the mainstream.. it was one of those up and coming gigs that MTV puts on.. from then on, I liked them.

And if you get a chance to hear their whole album.. OMFG.. well all except for the last track.. rockabilly???

"I like Jack Stripe like a little brother" WTF is she on? Coke, Heroin?

LMAO

Really? Seems to me that Tokyo gets a fairly regular variety of interesting bands.

Tokyo, yes. I was speaking more of Asia in general. A lot of bands will fly over, hit Tokyo, then leave.

Marilyn Manson and Linkin Park are both coming to Seoul within about 30 days of each other - which is very rare. (I'd go to either show, but they were sold out by the time I got here and I'm not paying scalpers' prices on an already overpriced show.) Usually, the bands that come to Korea are the total has-beens (Warrant, for one, to give you some idea what I'm talking about) who can't even get state fair gigs in the US anymore.

LMAO..

Ok, I'll even say that song is catchy after the first couple times of listening to it..

My favorites are:
1. Seven Nation Army (3:51)
2. Black Math (3:03)
3. There's No Home for You Here (3:43)
4. I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself (2:46)
5. In the Cold, Cold Night (2:58)
6. I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother's Heart (3:20)
7. You've Got Her in Your Pocket (3:39)
8. Ball and Biscuit (7:19)
9. Hardest Button to Button (3:32)
10. Little Acorns (4:09)
11. Hypnotize (1:48)
12. Air Near My Fingers (3:40)
13. Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine (3:17)
14. It's True That We Love One Another (2:42)

Well hell that is the whole album.. it really is good. Ball and Biscuit is kind of grunge hard core.. I like.

Hardest button to button is also a pretty snappy tune. It is not so often that a band can release a damn fine album where nearly every song is worthy of a top ten hit. The White Stripe album 'Elephant' is one of those albums.
