Am sort of pissed (aboot time measuring apparatus)

After an apocalypse where mah 3 main watches crapped their batteries in the span of 2 weeks and 900yens in coins batteries I'm back to only 1 casualty...

That have to be serviced by a pro since she got a perpetual calendar and no instruction to set it up by zee user.

After a quick drop a the local watch repair shop (where I also asked for a small rubber thingymabob to be replaced around the time setup turnbutton). It came back with and estimated cost of 26 000 yens...
I asked the price for a battery switch only...

26 000 yens...

So i cancelled and was told that the cost for not servicing it would be 2100 yens anyway...

I think it is/was a seiko or citizen 24hours GMT dial watch.

I don't even know if I have a real question aboot this clusterfuck... But seriously... for 26 000 yens on amazon you got 24h watch with 6 band radio auto synchronisation (read worldwide) and solar auto recharging battery... (and a free beej' )

I sort of liked the old one because she was... heavy... (and I love heavy watches and pens)... But seriously... dafuq...

Plus... i rarely do anything time dependant/constrained except for mah appointements to the dentist... I should buy one of thoose steampunk solar time rings... (in Paris they where useless because of the quasi eternal cloud layer, they also sort of suck at night)

So, after a pricey button cell from amazon (600 yens) and finding the manual on the interwab for the time module used... I was able to replace the battery and reprogram the perpetual calendar... took me 40 minutes because I was missing a step for the start of the programming... but nothing that require a rocket surgeon... and certainly not something that justify a sticker price of more than 2 mans...

I'm happy to have my watch back... but really pissed of by the whole clusterfuck...
