Missile message mistakenly played in Japan
TOKYO, Japan (AP) -- Government workers throughout Aichi Prefecture in western Japan heard a message saying there was a ballistic missile attack after it was mistakenly played.

The message said: "This is information about a ballistic missile attack. This area is being targeted for an attack."

Local government spokesman Masashi Aoyama said the message was broadcast by accident on Wednesday during a test at city hall in Nagoya, 170 miles (270 kilometers) west of Tokyo.

Workers and visitors in roughly 20 government buildings through the prefecture heard the alert, which was cut off before it finished.

A correction was played shortly after.

Meanwhile, 50 people died of panic-related heart attacks and 20 gaijin were arrested for looting local konbis.

Here we go again ...
Terumi Tanaka, who survived the 1945 atomic bombing of Nagasaki at age 13 and is now secretary-general of the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Associations, said the "best thing" the delegation could do would be to apologize for the two bombings, which killed roughly 220,000 people.

The "best thing" the Japanese could do is apologize for ... I don't even know where to begin.

Bwahahahahahhahaha

It's always interesting two hear all the odd excuses and whatnot Japan has for it's part in WWII. The argument seems to leave out nearly all Japanese aggression save for pearl harbor (though I have heard many J-people excuse this away by saying the "the US knew about the attack and let it happen so they could join the war"), play the victim card, and go on and on about the bombings of Japan and how the U.S. wouldn't stop until Japan was 100% defeated. (no shit Sherlock, like Japan did any less?) Then there are all the unforgiving old people who "had family in the military killed by Americans" and therefore will always hate the US and Americans. Obviously, such discussion are often best avoided but when unavoidable, I always bait them with something about Japan being so well organized and motivated, it could have been as big as all of Asia today if they didn't attack the U.S. Their pride, irrational programming can't let them refrain from taking this bait and then you have the controls.

China orders retailers to stop selling 'Tokyo Big Bang' fireworks amid dispute with Japan
AP News 2013-020-08
Chinese authorities have ordered retailers to stop selling fireworks named "Tokyo Big Bang" because they could damage relations with Japan, an official with the fireworks' manufacturer...
...authorities have passed on the message that "China is a peace-loving country and we should not do something damaging to the China-Japan friendship," said a manager at the Beijing Doudou Fireworks Company...
The name came from both patriotism and profit, he said...
... the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Sunday and marks the beginning of the Year of the Snake. Across the country, people set off fireworks throughout the day and night on the streets. Chinese traditionally believe the noise will fend off evil spirits and bad luck.
