I dont get it. I feel cheated. He looks paler in indoor photos and browner outside. As most might. I kind of like the Ka-ru Ojisan hat and face hair, though. And I loved the homophillic slogan there:

Narooheso. I can dig that. In that sense it does fit in well with the thread, seeing as how he's probably never lifted even a hand hoe in his life. I have a soft spot for cheesy Japanese image ads; they remind me of 60s cigarette advertisements. He's really good in Byakoukou, btw. Even with that potted plant Ayase Haruka in it.

PS Japanese are brown people. Even if they're more of a bronze wheat tone. Doing up an Indian probably isn't quite cool, but white face can't be racist unless you're a Facebook cat lady desperate to be offended, though that silly ANA ad came about as close as it might get.

The nose makes it borderline. If it's just a wig, no. You can't call a brown person dressing up like another kind of brown person brown face. Otherwise we'd have to call out our favorite Middle Eastern Hispanic Maori actor.

Don't dare say that to an "Asian American" lest you be labelled a "racist." I think the phrase "when's the last person you saw an asian making white/black/brown eyes at you" is the go to....all the while, all over Asia, people are fixated on making their eyes bigger. (not to mention the tendancy for Japanese to label Chinese/Korean as "tiny eyes" and vice versa)
