Macquarie Projects Overview:
-Macquarie Projects Limited, which is a 100% subsidiary of Macquarie Capital, provides commercial project development advice and investment support to Clients developing infrastructure projects across Asia and the Middle East.
-As one of the world's largest owner / operators of infrastructure assets, Macquarie has developed a centre of excellence within Project structuring and implementation. Drawing on this experience as an owner allows Macquarie Projects to understand what it means to be responsible for the success or failure of a Project and what commercial arrangements are necessary to meet Client requirements.
The Opportunity:
-Macquarie Capital Japan has established a partnership to develop and fund a large portfolio of mid-scale (20kW-1MW) solar systems in the Chubu utility footprint in Japan.
-To manage the day to day affairs of the solar business, Macquarie Projects has established an asset management company (ManCo) with its local partner. The ManCo will manage the investment portfolio under an asset management agreement.
-Under the asset management agreement, Macquarie Projects has the right to appoint certain key positions to the ManCo.
The Role:
Macquarie Projects will appoint the ManCo Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will have overall responsibility for the day to day operations of the ManCo and the underlying distributed solar business. The CEO will be the key ManCo representative in all its business interactions and will be responsible for the overall performance of the ManCo business.
The CEO will be employed through Macquarie Projects and will be seconded to the ManCo where the CEO will report to the Board of Directors on a day to day basis.
Responsibilities:
-Act as the key ManCo representative in its business dealings with ultimate responsibility for the performance of the ManCo.
-Establish the ManCo management team. Ensure sufficient and suitable resources to meet all obligations.
-Oversee development, implementation of, and compliance with, company policies, management plans and manuals.
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with partners, contractors, utilities, community and other key project stakeholders to enable the business to successfully operate.
-Represent the ManCo at meetings with DevCo and the O&M Contractor as required.
-Monitoring key contractor performance and compliance with the EPC and O&M Contracts.
-Ensure that EPC and O&M management systems are implemented and maintained.
-Work with the ManCo Board to establish Policies and ensure they are implemented and followed.
-Work with the ManCo Board to set appropriate performance targets across a range of disciplines including health and safety, quality, community engagement and environmental.
-Ensure health and safety and environmental performance is achieved as targeted.
