As an aside to this thread, I ride my bicycle through Roppongi early every morning. A few weeks ago, I turned right from Roppongi-dori and onto Gaienhigashi-dori and there was a huge gunshot-like sound that reverberated through the streets. The Nigerians ducked, the filthy Chinese whores ducked and Plod ducked. My bike was wobbling, so I thought someone had taken a shot at me. Turns out that the rim on my bike tire had exploded (I didn't even know they could do that shit). Everybody taking cover was hilarious, so I could see the humor in the situation, but it took a few seconds to realize what had happened. Everybody took the piss out of my as I walked the bike through the town, though. Felt like a right dickhead.

Regarding the main story, I saw some news coverage that the suicide was the 72yo man's way of giving the finger to his (ex?) wife following a pretty damning domestic violence-related court decision that basically handed her the home, the car, etc. (IOW, a childish "if I can't have it, nobody can!" suicide from a disgruntled, retired, senior that just had everything he worked for and owned taken from him)
