Last year here in the heartland I had a friend Momo and she would get sooo pissed when people would speak to her in Korean (thinking she was from Korea) and I got so tired of hearing her bitch about how distictive the Japanese were I made her take that test, ha and she failed big time. My Japanese girlfriend got thrown in the drunk tank at Window Rock, Arizona for having an unopened 6-pack in the backseat and beer breath*. The Indian reservation police refused to believe she was Japanese, and not a Navajo Indian. (Having booze is illegal on the "Rez" for Indians.)

When she cursed at them for 20 minutes straight in Japanese, the Tribal Police assumed she was so drunk she couldn't talk right ---the police continued to hold her for medical observation. They told me when I bailed her out that the Japanese language sounded totally psycho to them. I agreed.


*Her blood alcohol was below for DWI since she only had one beer.

i kick ass. i got 11 out of 17. i agree with Guest though that i would have done a tone better if i could have seen the fashion..

on another note, my japanese wife got a 7 out of 18...

japanese people have much better style in clothing than the koreans and chinese, in my opinion.. all of my taiwanese friends (rich, rich, rich), wear expensive big name usually kinda dumn looking clothing and gaudy jewelry while my okinawan and japanese friends look a thousand times better wearing t-shirts and silver.

15 out of 17..i guess its just cause i hang out with alot of japanese/korean/chinese, and can tell the diff pretty easy (although some of those were pretty hard)

Ha. My lady always gets addressed in Spanish at US Immigration, Chinese in Shanghai, Tagalog in the Philippines, and in Milan guys come up behind her to smooth talk her in Italian. "NANI?" is her standard reply that blows them away.

She was wearing the wrong coat and had no ID in it.
However, basically she was stopped for Driving-While-Nonwhite.

So what's new about this admittedly old post?

Most Japanese in the south-west of Japan are south-east Asian origin, many have a lot in common with Malays, esp with their naturally melanin rich skin and brown faces often covered by white makeup in the female cases.
Others there come from the same kind of people that later called themselves Koreans.

Up from Kyushu and into Honshu there's more the Han Chinese origin mixed with the Ainu who were the indigenous people and no, weren't all chased up to Hokkaido. Some of them mixed with the so called Jomon and Yayoi.

Then the Tohoku region and Hokkaido - Mongolian and Chinese plus significant amounts of Ainu mixed in. Plenty of lidded, western looking eyes among people from there who probably have no idea they are a Mongolian/Han Chinese/Ainu mix.

Nope, it's dementia from all the 'healthy' mercury and other toxins that he as a Japanese habitually eats and proclaims is a unique custom of the Japanese. We Japanese love nature, we have four seasons and our food is so healthy.

As for his primary school diagram supposedly showing something, Take - genetics don't lie. What is called 'Japanese' has more than a shitload of what are now south-east Asians, Koreans and Chinese. And sorry, I forget to mention Polynesian. Funny how non Japanese/non East Asians can accept solid facts from genetic research - didya know the original British were actually what we call Welsh today - without putting their heads in the sand.

I suspect the problem lies in the fact that Malays and other south-eastern Asians who have a lot in common genetically with many south-western Japanese and some in Honshu also have stronger links to what used to be called 'Negroids' - Black Africans. Another problem for most Japanese as most of them still reject science by bleating the catchall 'Jomon' and 'Yayoi' and calling them the 'Japanese race'.

Oh yeah, south-east Asians and east asians, as well as Indians and other people, have two sets of skin colour genes - dark and pale. In whites the melanin genes have been switched off. That's what makes us white. While the fact I have only one set of skin color genes means nothing to me, apart from the fact I wish I could have skin that doesn't burn and go red, I'm damn sure that Japanese, Koreans and others who keep saying they are unique races don't want to face that reality.

Just like the racist Indians who taunted an Aussie player with a Jamaican father not that long ago by calling him an ape. Indians with dark skins slagging off people with dark or brown skins based on the fact that they have dark skin is one of the best pieces of hypocrisy and self-delusion outside of Japan.
