Ok, ok. here's the drill which I just did during New Years with my 4hp snowblower which was sitting unused for 1 year ...

Drain gas.
Check for spark.
Fill with new gasoline.
Check cleanish looking oil.
Spray in carb cleaner <or> run injector cleaner through.
Use starting fluid.
Pray to Buddha and FIRE IT UP!

Also really excellent shop near my apartment. These guys work their asses off morning, noon and night - and weekends.

They even have an English site.

Space Motors

It is run by a FG - Israeli I think. They do have english speaking staff.

yup thats pretty much the plan...ive charged and drained the battery twice already trying to get it started without starting fluid but it looks like im down to the point of draining the damn thing and cleaning the carbs out. It sat for a good 2 months at least <sarcasm="high">so im sure there was no condensation or anything </sarcasm>

I can totally identify with your situation. When I got my new bike it had been sitting for 10 months in the guy's garage - with fuel in the tank.

I took it to a mechanic (it needed a batch of parts too, since some of the fairings, the seat and the taillights had been stolen) and he ended up having to replace the carb. I was there when he pulled it off and opened it up. There was this orange sediment that had fused over some of the ports in the carb that wasn't going to come off with anything short of a jackhammer.

Hopefully you won't have to replace anything on yours, but I'm willing to bet a thorough cleaning is in order.
