TOKYO LOCKDOWN...

Postby Taro Toporific » Wed Mar 25, 2020 9:14 pm

Half-assed TOKYO LOCKDOWN, butt just for this weekend.

Tokyo governor urges people to stay indoors this weekend as capital becomes new focus of outbreak

The Japan Times, KYODO, REUTERS, March 25, 2020
Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike on Wednesday requested that people refrain from going outside this weekend for nonessential reasons, due to concerns over a sharp rise in the number of coronavirus infections in the Japanese capital.
The metropolitan government confirmed 41 cases the same day, more than double its previous daily record of 17 the day before.

haha, misleading thread title there Taro. came in expecting the Stasi on stilts but instead it's Edmund Blackadder with a meekly insipid "um, hello? sorry but if it's not too much bother could some of you please possibly please stay at home a little bit over the weekend if its not too much trouble thank you ever so much and I am so very, very sorry for butting in like this."

As for the possibility of announcing a citywide lockdown, Koike said now is not the time for it but she will make a decision if necessary based on advice from health experts.

Translation: Despite the west going almost full lockdown and this new red flag that shows the outbreak is about to happen here, we Japanese can still gaman/ganbare...until we can't and it becomes regrettable, unforseeable, etc.(insert bow)

Seems like Nippon Kaigi - I mean the Japanese Government - would be stupid enough to crash the Tokyo economy by a lockdown. They could do other things - see my other post in the how are you guys going or whatever it is thread re the virus.
Harping on about the weekend and then letting the bullshit of packed trains, old folk running around the stations and on the trains, schoolkids most likely infecting each other and adults by flocking together etc go on is just shit for brains and plain irresponsible.
