Finger Printing Foreigners

I was wondering when this was going to be introduced. I'm surprised it has taken this long for the gov't to introduce this plan. Is this a tit for tat with the US or just another way to harrass poor gaijin trying to enter the country.

I'm sure his "fingerprints" can be found al over this new law, even though his name is absent. I agree with you Blah Pete, I sometimes feel like some people would be happy if all of us just picked up and left. A small percentage, of people, but they can sometimes be quite vocal. But then I get together with my real Japanese friends and see that most people aren't like that, they are decent human beings, who don't fear or despise us. They think of us as normal people.

Japan stopped that years ago. When I got my card I didn't need to register a fingerprint.

They said it was a precautionary measure in case I fostered illegitimate children, they wanted some sort of proof for comparison, so the mother could sue for child support.

And the really bad thing, they had porn, but all the good parts were filtered/censored.. that was a real bummer.

A Proof-of-Concept 'Smart Toilet' System Monitors Your Health and Identifies You by 'Analprint'

Upon completion of defecation or urination, the system uploads all of the user's results to a protected cloud. Individual users are identified via a fingerprint scanner embedded in the flush lever as well as by "analprint" (yes, the researchers called it an analprint). A camera on the toilet module images the user's anus, allowing an algorithm to link the anus image to a specific person on subsequent use.

Many will understandably wince at the idea of their anuses and excretions being uploaded to the Internet, no matter how supposedly secure the database. The researchers counter by insisting that this sort of data, collected frequently from lots of participants, can provide an unprecedented look into the health of Americans.

"The toilet will ultimately function as the daily clinic for continuous monitoring of human excreta, feeding data into models of human health that can be used for screening and subsequent diagnostics," they write.
