INFLUX OF SCARY-LOOKING FOREIGNERS

Noticed scary-looking foreigners (Arabs, Turks, Chechens (?), etc.) surfacing recently around Kanazawa-Bunko - 23 Km south of Yokohama. It's close to the US bases at Yokosuka and Jimmuji.

Most likely they're grad students using the Kanazawa Bunko collection of unique/oddball/forgotten Islamic texts that are tightly held by Kanto Gakuin University's Literature department. The texts were ignored by mainstream Islam for centuries but were "rediscovered" in the past year languishing in Japan by some conservative Muslim offshoot.

I'm not privy to Islamic sectarian politics but a Muslim acquaintance mentioned (with a bit of disdain) this controversial "find" to me just last week.
