So Caustic, moving from Seoul to Tokyo?

Wait, you're in Korea and you're not teaching ESL? What the hell are you doing here? Seoul's a dump compared to Tokyo!

But, yes, I'm making the Korea-Japan transfer towards the end of this year. I've done a good bit of time in Korea off and on since '95, and it's time to give somewhere else a go. The whole purpose of this stint in Korea is to build up a nest egg to get settled in Tokyo. I made my second trip over there last month and will make one more in May. Can't wait until I'm there for good. :D

I was in the animation biz, I'm on a break (thanks to chinese competition 8O) that looks like a career options assesment...
Spent a year in Tokyo like 10 years ago, I can understand most people will prefer it to Seoul but don't you find Koreans easier to get along with?
I'll also be going back and forth to Tokyo soon because I'm preparing some short documentaries for a French cable channel.

I haven't dealt to much with Japanese folk, but I'll still say "no." I find it's the rare Korean that's pretty cool. Most of them are uptight, xenophobic pricks. At least in Japan I don't have to deal with the staring and the constant muttering of "waygook!" that I get here. I've found being ignored to be one of the most refreshing things about Tokyo. :)

Ask Pongi about his world winning makeover show. He takes your average bloke, decks them out in Pongi-ness and then follows them around to see if the stare factor increases. It is loads of fun

Oooooooooooooooo, my friend, if you plan on working in Japan, be prepared to revise your definition of the word "uptight".

it's working for me djMitch. you click on the link and then look for thumbnails that till pop up, just under the XYZ Bar banner logo. scroll along the right edge to see more videos from that "channel". the thing that can go wrong is that your browser window may be too small. if you stretch out the window, you'll see the thumbnails.

the only other time the videos didn't work was when evil pongi hacked rob's site and placed only EVIL videos there instead, including a fully downloadable copy of "Gigli"--now that is evil! 8O
