TOKYO : A new health drink has been launched in Japan and its manufacturer claims it can improve human blood....
....The drink, called Polygen, is made using some well-known Japanese foodstuff that contains polyglutamin, the sticky substance found in fermented soy bean called natto....
...One woman showed our reporter a change in her blood condition, just 40 minutes after taking the drink. "I was told that my heart can develop a muscle disorder. If I don't maintain my blood in a healthy condition and keep it like this, I may start showing bad symptoms, so I'm glad I know my condition," she said....
However the manufacturer cautions that Polygen is not to be taken by those who are allergic to alcohol and malt, and athletes.
It costs 16,800 yen or about US$160 per bottle and has been in the market since February 2004.
