Sure. I said "you've got 'I' listed on your page over 50 times". My argument: - a blog dedicated to yourself is uppity. Hanabi tried to evade the point by saying, "oh yeah! try and put together sentences not using I!" Her counterargument is that I object to the use of the pronoun I, which is impossible to avoid, thereby ignoring my real point completely. She has beaten the strawman argument that it is impossible to construct paragraphs of text without at least referencing the first person... yes, I agree, but that wasn't my argument.

True but your original argument is flawed and you are asking everyone to just accept it at face value. A blog dedicated to yourself isn't necessarily uppity. It is only uppity if the person writing it is uppity. A blog can be for any number of reason and intended for any number of readers. It could be inteded simply as a personal journal or a way of sharing your thoughts and feelings with your friends. It isnt necessarily a platform for informing the masses or a soapbox from which to preach.

I keep a blog that is primarily for myself to keep track of my life as it flys past and for my family to see how im doing since I'm several thousand miles away and dont see them all the time. Is that uppity? I use lots of personal pronouns. There are times that I have to remind myself that someone else might see it but then again... if they arent interested, they dont have to go to that url

So your original premise is a bit of a house of cards. Had you argued that the particular entry in question sounded uppity because of the assumptions she was making, it might have carried more water but....eh... you'd still be wrong :P

Nah, I just moved it to another address so I could go back to the original plan: friends and family only. They know me better and are a lot more forgiving about my stupid jokes. It was fun for a while, but I think I miss my meager eight hits a day. Thanks for the food for thought.

Sure, I was giving you my honest opinion (especially since I didn't know it was you when I posted my original reply to Ultra's url reference)
