My real dream is to become a journalist, but everybody knows you can't make a living as a writer -- especially right out of college. So a job with the Japanese government will do me good until I grow up and develop a plan.

Replace "journalist" with "technical writer" and those would be exactly my reasons for being interested in JET.

I still think JET is my first choice, a few of my friends have or are currently doing it, and it would be a useful way to have adventure (whilst simultaneously having a steady paycheck) and to learn how the education system in Japan works, especially in language. How people learn language is of great interest to me.
