What is "jtrains"?
The "jtrains" mailing list was set up on Yahoo Groups at the beginning of 2001 to provide an English language forum for people interested in Japanese railways to exchange information and ask questions on the subject. In addition to offering the basic features of a mailing list, the group also has areas for uploading photos and reference data of interest to other members.
How do I join?
Anyone interested in any aspect of Japanese railways is welcome to subscribe to the mailing list. The best way is to subscribe via the jtrains Yahoo Groups web page. This allows you to choose whether to have messages delivered to your e-mail address or to read the messages on the web page like a web forum. Alternatively, you can subscribe directly by e-mail to jtrains-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. The level of traffic on the list is fairly low, and rarely exceeds 10 messages per day, even on busy days.
What subjects are allowed on the group?
Basically, any comments, questions, or news items related to railways in Japan are welcome. Railway modellers interested in Japanese model railways are also encouraged to join the JRForum group for discussions of Japanese model railways.
What subjects are not allowed?
Spamming, commercial messages, flaming, virus warnings, and test messages are not welcome on the group. Please also note that mail attachments should not be sent to the list, as these will be stripped off by Yahoo Groups. Image files can be uploaded to the group's Photos area for other members to see.
