Nah, he's still in category I-can't-believe-he's-not-dead-yet along with that old lady, Madonna.

BBC wrote:Supporting Madonna was... rock sensation Iggy Pop, who sent crowds wild with his antics, as he leapt off the stage to greet fans after his performance which lasted more than an hour.

Hey, I once stood behind Iggy in the checkout line at the Ralph's grocery store on Sunset. He was buying a bottle of vodka, and had a heavily made-up asian woman in tow. They looked like they had someplace to go.

Iggy is one of the true originals, but he's way past his prime, he hasn't produced anything decent since "Soldier." His newest albums are an embarassment. Iggy is another artist who made better music when he was a junkie.

But none of that detracts from his legacy. Anyone who has the least interest in Punk should read "Please Kill Me" by Legs McNeil, it's full of interviews with Iggy and all the old punks, recorded way back in the day when memories were fresh. A favorite story: Iggy is totally wasted, staggering down Sunset Blvd in, LA wearing a dress. He gets stopped by a Sherrif. Dialogue:

Sherrif: Is that a WOMAN'S dress?
Iggy: No, this is MY dress.

Iggy definitely has yellow fever. Charles' sighting is a good confirmation. Have to agree that his recent output is not much to write home about but he he can still handle a live show. His bassist plays like he has been plugged directly into the mains. Great stuff.

The bassist touring with the Stooges this last year, and also on their recent recordings is Mike Watt. His past bands included the Minutemen and fIREHOSE. He's utterly amazing. Jam Econo!

I didn't know Mike Watt was playing with Iggy these days. I saw fIREHOSE a couple times when I was in college. A great bass player.

TROLL ALERT!

Well, it's not like we needed further confirmation, but Cobra, a.k.a. "horizon", is definitely a troll. Cobra has decided to create a separate identity for himself named horizon, perhaps solely for the purpose of attacking our revered member AK. This is bullshit.

Cobra, your ass should be banned. It's up to ultra what he wants to do, but I think this qualifies as grounds for banning.
