Countdown Events in Osaka

Anyone from the Kansai region know of any good events to ring in the new year over there? I'm thinking of making the trip up from Kyushu with a few friends. I've heard of a Universal Studios event that looks like a decent deal. Anybody done that in the past? Also, any other recommended events would be most welcome. Thanks a lot in advance.
