Sorry to jump all over your wannabe-Fucked ass, but sometimes I get sick of all these slacker gaijin who step off the plane at Narita and want to become instant playaz.

That's for damn sure. To be a true playa, you have to build up your cred as a Japan hack. And forget about soaplands and whorehouses. Your gaijin ass won't get through the front door.

You get caught doing that here, and it's instant deportation for you (preceded by several days of incarceration without being formally charged). I heard once about a FG who actually tried to grow weed on PUBLICALLY OWNED LAND somewhere in Saitama. He was caught, of course, and deported.

I suppose one thing you could try is the Iranian dudes who hang out on street corners in Roppongi/Shibuya. I know people who have been propositioned by them to buy drugs.

Well shit... that just about takes the fun out of smoking douj, doesn't it? And someone told me that molly was just about impossible to find in Japan these days on top of that (not that I was ever into the rave scene anyway). Then again they weren't really the informed-about-Japan type...

Anyway, I take it the only inebriants availble to gaijin on student visas are alcohol and no-doze, yeah? How sad...

There are way more drugs in Japan now than in years past. What I can`t figure out is why the cops don`t do anything about the guys selling on center-gai in Shibuya. Everyone knows they do it and it`s quite open. Yakuza ties are probably a factor but it`s so freaking obvious.

center-gai in Shibuya, right right. Horrible drug problems there, no good will come of that. By the way, I have a friend who lost his wallet in center-gai in Shibuya near some drug dealers and the forgot how to get back. Could you give me some directions that I could tell my friend so he can get his wallet back...

I could be wrong but...

Postby GomiGirl » Wed Jul 24, 2002 6:40 pm

I could be wrong, but methinks that befamfivh was trying to find out directions to center-gai so that he can go "shopping".... 8O

From Hachiko crossing... go to Starbucks at Q-front (can't miss it) and walk up the busy pedestrian street on the left side... walk up and down that street a few times and keep your eyes out... 8O

Look for groups of foreign gentlemen reclining against drink machines and looking for you...

Seek and ye shall find... however, shopping is a high risk activity so do so at your own peril.

Hardly.. don't touch the stuff.. especially not from men on street corners...

Seriously, I asked somebody why all the scary guys were always on that street.

But Tokyo like every big city has something for everyone....

Drugs in Japan

Hell yeah it's obvious. I occasionally stop into Kagaya in Shinjuku to pick up some overpriced Cubans, and I've noticed that they have a pretty big selection of bowls and bongs in there. From the looks of things, pot's probably a minor concern in Tokyo these days.
