Have any of you FG had experiences with Japanese hospitals? I completely fucked my collarbone 3 weeks ago and have been going to my local hospital twice a week. In 3 weeks, the bone hasn`t healed at all and I have to wear a brace from the 70`s that`s pure torture. I`ve blatently been misdiagnosed and mistreated, my doctor is a fucking prick who now says I need an op and wants to keep me in hospital for 3-4 weeks after(?). fuck this place, I`m going home to get some metal.
My experience was only okay.....Just sitting in the hosptial was unnerving....cold.
Since you have gone through what you did, I would suggest going back home to get the fix.
When my dad was sick, my mom would take him to Tokyo University for care although he had access to the base (retired AF)....but in the end, coming back to the US was best for him.
Go with your feelings. Also, that does happen in the US all the time, misdaignosis, unneccassary surgery...etc...So in the end, is all depends on the doctor you go too......get that second opinon, even in Japan if you can.
I hope it all works out...but get that fixed as soon as possible.
I would recommend going to the National university hospital. You may get better service there. They also speak English, but don't be surprised if they don't. The level of health care you get is a real coin toss up here in the boonies. In Aomori, none of the big city hospitals have any staff who can speak English, and I've heard about a lot of Jets etc. going home for medical attention.
I took my Japanese gf to a hospital after she slipped over and split her knee open. The female doctor only looked at and spoke to me in Japanese even though I told I only speak a little Japanese. Then when my gf was getting her stiches they wouldn't let me stay with her and hold her hand. Anyway it was in Kamakura and it took going to 2 hospitals to get everything done and probably took about 5 hours all up. My advice to all in Japan wrap yourself in bubble wrap and don't go outside!!!!
