D'oh. I now remember how the press misidentified them as "French" in the early reports. The German sister of one guys certainly took offence to our black humor, but the outpouring of help from Marvin and others to get her more info was VERY gracious of the FG Forum-- Class act folks.

I sent her more info from interviewing the hotel staff but she all of a sudden she seemed to not receive it/not interested in it/could care less about it. I've alway felt the "sister" may have been a troll who backed out because everyone was being too helpful and sincere. In that spirit of community, sincerity and Charity I shall offer up....

Yikes! I felt so bad about posting that pic after the alleged 'sister' showed up, that all I could say was something lame like 'I think they're in a better place now' or words to that effect. I'm slightly relieved that evidence suggests 'she' was a troll.

"Chatterley". Follow the link that Kurohinge 1 just posted.

I'm not so sure about calling troll although there are people here with a better sense for that than me. The posts seemed to contain more info than we knew (suicide note at home, not French etc). Like amdg, I felt a cold chill at the thought a relative was browsing our black humour.

She seemed sincere that's for sure and why I PMed her the info I gleened fr0m the hotel staff (was in the Keio hotel a few days after their deaths). I felt little bad about the jokes...but black humor is my family trade (grandpa was a coroner; I was his morgue orderly as a teen).

However, she was posting from BELGIUM, not Germany. Even though she was cleaning his German apartment, she became increasing vague about details brother's severe manga fixation the more we asked her both online and via PM.

Actually, yes. I meant to say so when you asked the same question in this thread back in April. The story was covered by print and TV media alike. Most didn't identify her at the time but were quite free with the names of the two suspects. Her name quickly surfaced on the internet but even a Mainichi story last week chose not to name her. In fact, they didn't refer to nationality either although that was picked up in the initial coverage.

Darley's at Fukumitsu is HH Shiek Mohammed's Japan stables. He is also the Crown Prince of Dubai, as well as being the Minister of Defense. He opened his J-stables using a J-front man because he cannot qualify for racehorse ownership registration in Japan because of residence.

So he opened stables and a breeding farm in Hokkaido under a yugengaisha.

He remains the largest private owner of thoroughbreds in the world. The largest Company owner is Shadai of Japan.

Yomiuri: Brazilian girl's death blamed on overdose
A 16-year-old Japanese-Brazilian girl whose body was found on a street of Tokyo's Roppongi entertainment district last month died from a drug overdose, according to police. An autopsy detected several types of chemicals in her body, the Metropolitan Police Department said Sunday. The girl, who moved from Brazil with her family last year, often left her home in Gunma Prefecture on weekends and visited the flashy Roppongi district. "Drug dealers are doing business at clubs foreigners go to," said a waiter in the district, as if it was nothing out of the ordinary...The girl's body was found at about 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 29. She was fully clothed and did not have any visible injuries. An initial autopsy concluded the girl died of heart failure, and it was later discovered her body tested positive for amphetamines, cocaine and opium...Her body was found on a back street about 300 meters from the main intersection in Roppongi, a relatively dark and empty area in the crowded district...A day before her death, the girl said to her family, "I'm seeing my friends in Tokyo," and left her home in Oizumimachi, Gunma Prefecture...The girl was a fourth-generation Japanese-Brazilian and came to Japan with her family around June last year. She hardly spoke any Japanese, they said. She worked at a supermarket and factory, but quit a couple of months before and was looking for a new job. On weekends she would often go to Roppongi, they said. "I was telling her she shouldn't go to Roppongi because it's dangerous," a boy, also 16, said with dismay. He used to work with her at a Brazilian supermarket. "There's a disco here, too, but maybe it wasn't as much fun for her."

This is a sad one - a guy who`d been living for some time in Fukuoka died when he was hit by a car in September - last month. He was riding his bicycle. To make it worse, the guy, Jason Long, had been married only recently.

Shit happens in life but this is damn sad. Found out from http://www.fukuokaguide.com

Kinda freaky the way the page is still viewable and as it was when he was alive:
"Page last updated: Friday, 08-Aug-03 23:36:41 PDT"

A neighbour died of cancer recently, she wasnt social, actually she was kind of reclusive, but somehow my family had the most contact with her out of all our neighbours, i used to cut her grass occassionally...
her cousin gave us a set of keys and asked us to do a few things as a favour: when i went in it was as i remembered it, it had always had a musty smell, but ill never forget washing out the half drunk cups of milky tea that developed mould after being left behind by her.

Husband of Tokyo Rose dead ? Iva Ikuko Toguri is the woman who was tried as Tokyo Rose. She is a first-generation Japanese-American who happened to be visiting a sick relative in Japan in 1941. When war was declared between Japan and the U.S., Toguri was trapped in Japan and pressured by Japanese military police to renounce her American citizenship. One of her jobs was as a typist for Radio Tokyo. After the war, several reporters went to Japan to find and interview the infamous Tokyo Rose, offering a large cash payment for an interview. A woman at Radio Tokyo pointed the reporters to Iva Toguri, and Toguri, thinking that she and her new husband, Felipe d'Aquino, could use the money, agreed to be interviewed.....They reluctantly divorced in 1980, and d'Aquino died a few years ago

Death Ride to Osaka - Big Movie
Carol (Jennifer Jason Leigh) is desperate to become a singer so she answers an ad for "singer wanted in Japan". Soon after arriving she realizes that she is expected to be a prostitute for the Japanese mafia. Lucky for her, her worried boyfriend eventually comes looking for her. Death ride to Osaka is based on the true story of Actor Tom Allard's girlfriend who ended up in a Yakuza prostitution ring in Tokyo. The title of "Death Ride to Osaka" is a code word by the Yakuza to send girls who disobey to some of the "lowest of the low" clubs in Osaka and then, presumably, be killed.

'pact': a formal agreement between two people or groups of people

something tells me the 9 month old girl didnt agree to SHit ... and I'd surmise the last things the 8 and 13 year olds said were along the lines of "fuck you mom, you crazy bitch" :?

The Edman's Obit

Postby Greji » Fri Oct 21, 2005 5:17 pm

Long term Tokyo resident Passes away

Edward A. Stauffer, 47, of Mita, Tokyo, passed away at 5:04 P.M., October the 19th at Jikkei University Hospital after a lingering illness.

The Edman (as he was known to his many friends and colleagues in Japan was a well known Blues promoter and proprietor of Kiki's Pub in Toranomon.
Mr. Stauffer from the US, was born and raised in the Bronx not far from Yankee stadium and was a Yankee fan above all. He first came to Japan in the 1970 (on assignment with the US Marine Corps as a member of the elite US Embassy Marine Security Detachment). After four years with the embassy, he left the Marines and spent six years in the security field, including a stint as a member of New York's finest, the NYPD.

He returned to Japan in 1985 and opened Kiki's Pub, which became a popular hang-out for the foreign community in Tokyo. He converted it to a blues bar and began publishing Blues Alive Magazine in 1998, as well as promoting name blues events as the founder of Blues Alive Entertainment Inc. He has also been a contributing writer to most of the major blues publications in the USA, providing news on the blues scene in Japan.

Among his major events was the Year of the Blues Celebration 2003, sanctioned by the US Embassy, which was one of the first International Events held at Roppongi Hills. He also promoted The Rainbow Children Blues Gala in support of the rainbow children charity. This charity for children with Downs Syndrome, was his favorite and he sponsored and assisted in numerous events on its behalf. He also supported functions held by the US Embassy and the US Forces.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Kimie Takimoto and three brothers and two sisters in New York. His parents and three brothers preceded him in passing. Services are to be announced.

May an old runner rest in peace
