Hey, did anyone see this month's Tokyo Metro "manner" poster featuring me standing on crutches in front of a shit-eating couple lounging on the "Courtesy Seats"?

They ought to know that those seats are reserved for aliens. :eye:

is anyone else here mildly insulted by the fact they see the need to make those signs bilingual? myself included, my experience has been that it's not the english speaking foreigners who need to be reminded of the seats' purpose.

frankly it's sad that courtesy seats are even needed. if there's some old dood, some pregnant woman with little kids, some bald-headed dood with crutches or some old exhausted goat-shagger who reeks of his most recent escapade, it just seems that it'd be common manners to let them sit, regardless if one is in a "courtesy" seat or not.

seriously, wtf is wrong with people that they need this explicitly spelled out?

I, ahhh, I mean most of those types always stand on the train. I, I mean they, can't get both hands into action if they're seated....

That doesn't bug me much, since almost everything else is bilingual, too.

The one that gets under my skin is how, of all the signs that the conbinis put out front, the only ones in other languages are the security camera and police watch announcements.

Or banks, whose only English signs are "security cameras in operation" or some other warning.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Kyoko Kano is currently promoting her new film, Il Vento e le Rose, which she also produced. Here are shots of her traumatizing two Italian actors in scenes from the movie.
