[quote="Captain Japan"]A couple of months ago I was driving with my friend (he was driving) in Nagano. We were descending a mountain road. At the bottom there was a cop motioning for us to pull over into this parking lot. Apparently other cops with radar guns were stationed halfway up the grade who signaled below that we were speeding. I believe we were 20 kph over. On this day business was brisk. There were loads of other cars getting pulled over after us. In the parking lot it was like a big ticketing party]
That reminds me of Korean-style speed traps. One guy with a radar gun by himself and another slightly further down the highway with the car and ticket book.

The scary thing is the guy who pulls you over. He just walks out into traffic and puts his hand out for drivers to stop and pull over. I'll never forget the day our army shuttle bus (full-sized bus) got pulled over. The cop stood in front of the bus and the driver made no attempt to slow until he was almost on top of the guy. Bravest cop I've ever seen. Our driver was a Korean civilian employee and tried to get out of it. Didn't work.

This is a very strange children's site- what are they teaching kids in Japan?

That was a pretty cool video. I like the paint sprayer on the back of the bikes. I can't imagine it'd be too safe to hose down somebody's windshield with that to get them to slow down though. The bikes made me think of

and Street Hawk.

Happens to more than just the FG drivers:

A Nelson woman has been freed after being locked in a Japanese detention centre for more than three months on a cannabis charge.

Sherryn Malthus said today her daughter Rebecca, 28, was arrested on May 16 after police raided her Tokoyo flat and found 1.3 grams of cannabis in her room.

Detective Pat Nelly of the Nelson police described it as a "small usable" amount, probably enough for one joint.

Mrs Malthus said her daughter appeared in a Japanese court yesterday and prosecutors recommended a sentence of six months in prison with hard labour.

Well I'm no dope smoker.. yet :D

I received the information for my court date, but unfortunately due to the work situation, I have to change the date. :D And I'm requesting a translator, because I think it only fair to make them pay for it :D otherwise I'd take my wife in with me hehehehe

Well, I hope they don't sentence me to 6 months of hard labour for speeding.

If you get time (lunch time) go and visit Himeji castle. Very cool. Was the 'Japanese' backdrop for the James Bond 'You only live Twice' martial arts scenes.
