Yes. You should get a pre-nup. Remember, even if you don't get a pre-nup you are in effect signing another agreement that says half is hers regardless of who earned it or who spent what. At least this is how it works in America.

The real trouble is when you have kids. Then you really are stuck for at least 18 years. Put your liquid assets where they can't be found. And do get the pre-nup. It is better than nothing and your wife should not be expecting anything at this point. After all, in Japan, the wife routinely gets little. In fact, once they get to the West and find out that they can just get a "paycheck" for nothing, that alone can be enough to get them thinking about divorcing. Get the paperwork upfront because if things go wrong and lawyers get involved, forget it.

All of this, however, is based on US law. Don't have the foggiest what goes on in your country.

what is a Pre-Nup?

In my country law, there is two different law: Common Marriage, and Fully Separated goods mariage..

J-slapper the Brit. here - EU rules I guess are similar. In my case if I wanted to be dumb enough to marry a J-bird i would marry in Japan. and divorce in japan.

keep your money in your country or even better in a third country- Switzerland, isle of man, guernsey,jersey,lichenstein,andora, belize,virgin islands, and I think maybe even luxembourg is Ok.

Dont tell the bitch about this. She cant touch it. Anyone can open an account in these countries but only you can take it out. Do the same if you win the lottery - its called "money laundering".

....I am not so fucking stupid to get married in the first place. However I am sure there will be a time when I will get married. Japanese or not , I will invest in Switzerland or whereever.
