From Slashfood:

The Gaijin is a beautiful, sexy cocktail that incorporates raspberry and peach into a not-too-sweet, yet fruity, drink that is ideal for Valentine's Day. The word gaijin means foreigner in Japanese and can refer to the concept of something foreign in more than one situation. In the case of this cocktail, it refers to the presence of nigori sake, a cloudy unfiltered type of sake that gives what would otherwise be a straightforward flavored martini an unusual flavor and an exotic look.

It could be served before dinner, but we like our Valentine's day cocktails with dessert, so feel free to try this with something fruity, like a bowl of berries and whipped cream.

The recipe is

¾ oz raspberry vodka (like Smirnoff)
¾ oz nigori sake (unfiltered)
½ oz white peach puree
raspberries or peach slices, for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake and strain into a martini glass. Serve with raspberries floating as garnish, or simply slip a thin slice of peach onto the rim of the glass.

You might know that a Bloody Mary made with tequila is called a Bloody Maria but did you know that, if you make it with sake and wasabi paste, then it's called a Bloody Maru?

When I do find it difficult to decide on a drink (or I can't afford to drink top-shelf Scotch) my default is Seven & Sprite.

I also agree that Tantakatan on rocks is good stuff. In Tokyo that was often my drink of choice. Not too many places in Okinawa serve it though.
