Let's put it this way.

I am on Island X, and I left the bars at 2 am.

I am walking home.

There are 50% blue people on this island, and 50% red people.

The statistics tell me that the blue people mug more people than the red people.

I am at a crossroads and I see 5 blue people to the left, and 5 red people to the right.

I choose to go right.

Am I a racist?

All people are racially conscious. Most discusion about race is automatically labled as 'racist' or 'racism', which it is not. Some people pretend they are not racially conscious at all, but this is just polite conversation.

Even the people who truly believe they are not 'racially conscious' have most likely not been put in a situation where they do feel racial consciousness, which is unlikely anyway.

So you're asking is statistical discrimination really discrimination? Sure- you're judging individuals because they are members of a racial group. The statistics are there to justify your prejudice, but that doesn't make discrimination any less of a problem. Instead of turning and walking in a different way, what if you moved your family to a new neighborhood, got a freeway put between you and the blue people, and had police trail them whenever they crossed into your neighborhood? Racist or prudent?

It's kind of like Precrime in Minority Report- sure the people you're arresting haven't committed any crimes yet, but based on our statistical profiles, we know they will! Better lock em up now.

Notice how Jingai completely avoids the question. Then "she" will claim to not look at people and judge them by their appearance. It's this sort of denial that is holding us back. Holier than thou denial. A disgrace.

So in shunning common sense for political correctness, you would rather have you or your family put in greater danger of being murdered, raped, robbed, and assaulted?

'Yay, I was carjacked with my young child sitting in the back seat, who was driven off into the distance never to be seen again, but at least I made a point by choosing to drive through that dangerous ethnic area and showing "Solidarity" then simply taking another route'! :crazy3:

Real world please.

"Real World please"?

Postby Marked Trail » Sat Aug 16, 2003 10:28 pm

Huh?
Are you're asking for, "Real World please" online?
Come on. If you, Kots and I were at the next FG Party, this "issue" would be over in 30 seconds via body language and common decency. May I speak for Kots and say that thrashing FG ideas is like preaching to the choir: if you show up on Sunday that's often good 'nuf.

Well hey, I just like to call leftwing thought whenever it rears its head for its trippy utopianism and its other major flaws whenever they are demonstrated. Like Kot's anti-Americanism-Anti-Americanism being a major facet of contemporary leftwing ideology.

And no, I don't subscribe to the politically correct notion that one must not voice an opinion lest someone else get their feelings hurt, that causes problems in itself.
