Super Bowl Half time show

Postby canman » Tue Feb 08, 2005 3:56 pm

If someone has written about this already I apologize, but I just wanted to know some of your opinions on that lame half time show. I like Sir Paul and all, but the music he was playing was so old. I mean hasn't he put out anything new recently? I know they didn't want another event like last year but I mean what a joke. I wonder did they have to pay all those people to stand and cheer for him. Do most of the kids even know who he was?

I thought it was rather.. 'tepid'. I like tits better..

Staged craziness looks cheesy to me. I really like his music though..

The game outshined the halftime show, IMO.

"Hey Jude,
Don't be afraid,
You were made to,
go out and get hurt ..."

AND

"Live and Let Die"

Were they for the lads in Iraq, and the ones who will go? :?
And, coincidentally, the name of the winning team - the Patriots.

Propaganda and conspiracy theories aside, it looked like a nice close game to me (like a final should be) and I liked Sir Paul's performance - coordinated with fireworks, then a slow one that everyone knows the words to, to get a bit of crowd bonding going and hopefully minimise any antisocial behaviour after the game.

And he is a BEATLE.

I only regret not being able to see the commercials on the broadcast I saw, as they are usually some of the most expensive and funniest commercials you'll see on TV, often only made for the superbowl. A welcome change from the usual over-abundant excuses for a toilet break.

I'll be quiet now ...

It was a lame, squeaky clean show, meant to keep the FCC off the network's back. But note that this WAS Fox, after all. You know, the network that appeals to the red states. I wonder what would happen if, say, the WB got to broadcast a Super Bowl?

Please, don't wish that on us. The last thing I can remember him doing (apart from some symphony) was "Give my Regards to Broad Street." If you haven't heard it, trust me -- Paul McCartney is better doing old.

I liked it.
Live and Let Die Rules!
Great game too.

I'm open minded, and would love to see someone do "new" music instead - but Timberlake-Jackson is not what I'd call even good pop. It's pappy krap I tell ya!

Too bad they just broke up: I would've loved to see the....

"Guided By Voices Half-time extravaganza!" Brought to you by Camel Cigarettes and Budweiser!
