Gettin a little tired of all these dweeb dick turds writing books on Japan. (in response to that recent one in the news) I think the FG's on this site should write a book about their experiences - flood the market - pissing off all these dickheads who actually beleive their life was actually special or important, when at the end of the day thier lives didn't add up to dry shit.

well, most books "on japan" could be/should be just blogs imho.
i go for quality and eclectic stuff. i especially like picking up first editions from a quirky specialist shop in london *will post some pics next week sometime*
oliver statler's book on becoming a henro was good (japanese pilgramige i think -too late to find it or spell properly ^^ ). personally, i'm compiling a dictionary/every day language book, been at it for 8/9 years now, should hopefully be complete next spring and will approach a publisher (a learned friend has some experience in getting a japanese business dictionary published by hugo, so will be getting some good help)
just noticed that josie drew did a follow up to her initial book about her bike rides in japan, the first was lighthearted and entertaining enough for me to want to pick the sequel up..

Yeah, I got much more respect for a language text or dictionary. A mate of mine's dad made a very simple english spelling book, very tiny and he and his bro and sis each get 6k a year - even though the dad is long dead. I doubt if any of these blogger-come-authors could get 18k a year from thier books for 20 odd years. If you publish your dictionary please dont use 'romaji' use minimum katakana and hiragana. I have never once bought a text that uses romaji for japanese study. If you ask me it just makes it more difficult to get the sounds right and just plain annoying.
