You dont really need to convert the power supply, just change the shape of the plug slightly, you can buy such adaptors for 100 ($1).

But it does depend on where you live, because west japan has 50htz while east has 50. but it does not always cause a problem.

I don't think you will have any problems.

Does your laptop use a two-prong power plug? If so then any modern Japanese building will accept it no problem. If one blade on the plug is slightly larger than the other then some older buildings won't take it, but you can buy another power plug or an adapter here very easily.

If you have a 3-prong plug then you have a couple of choices. I sometimes just take a pair of snippers and chop it off. It's the ground plug and the notebook will work without it. Or you can buy an adapter for a couple of dollars. Ideally you *should* have ground, but Japanese apartments/hotels don't seem to.

As for power, your notebook power supply should handle 100-240V in 50 or 60 Hz. Look at the bottom of the power brick, it will say. I've not seen any modern notebooks that will not automatically adjust though.

Good luck!

What is your problem?

You asked a question in the WRONG forum, without searching first, and then when you didn't get an immediate reply you posted another comment to bump your own thread. And now you suddenly think I am the FG Police? Fuck off.

You have to be obnoxious and generally piss off your wife to get great sex? Sorry dude...That must suck.
