Did you notice that the Mainichi has started linking their EIGO stories back to the original Japanese?

I wonder just when this happened because I started pestering them (one guy in particular) to start doing that about four months ago.

After the usual few weeks of 'no way' 'muzukashii' etc etc I sort of turned up the heat and got an old friend from the Nippon Kisha club to do a bit of buttonholing of the top editors over there.

I like to get back to the first guy and say thanks *if* indeed it was as a result of my being a typical gaijin asshole

No, I hadn't noticed that. That's a definite improvement. Hats off to you, if your stubborn gaijinness somehow influenced this change.

The next question is, when will they start putting the same front page content as the Japanese site on the English site? The featured English language stories are always decidely down-market.

Well I think I *am* going to take credit for that change because I just emailed my Kisha club friend and he said that they told him it was a good idea and they would start doing it.

Of course it may have helped that he told them his gaijin friend who was mad as a hatter had threatened suicide if they didn't do it

So what shall I do next - hunger strike to get 'Eigo front page parity'
