How often do you go back "home"?

After 2.5 years, I finally broke down and make plans for a week back where I came from. This seems longer than for most of the expats I've asked, but I wonder about FGs...

Do to the structure of roundtrip (return) airline tickets I go back every 6 months.
(The one-year open round-trip ticket is getting increasingly harder to find.)

How often do I go back.. it's been two years already and I really don't miss home that much. Japan feels like home to me now. When I say that, I realize that I've been here too long.

BFE part of California. I always have to refer to the part as "somewhere half way in between SF and LA" and even that won't register to most people.

I always had the chance to visit US a few times a year for work but I never bothered to swing by home.

I usually go back at least once a year. My company is located in California so every business trip to the US is also free vacation time. Every J-company I was in before had business interests in CA too so lots of free trips.
