A Question About Word (and bash dickhead thread)

Postby AssKissinger » Fri Nov 18, 2005 5:01 am

Is it possible to set word so it doesn't do ANYTHING automatic. Like if you want to make a form or a resume and you don't want to use a template can you make it so you can just type and it will never move the words around for you automatic? So like if you made a column you could just add to it without it shifting all the other words, like the only way a word will move is if you delete it and type it somewhere else.

Someone said to me, oh yeah you can do that with notepad if you don't want it to do anything for you but notepad still shifts the words around when you add something in the middle.
I want it to be just like I put a partially typed page into an old manual typewriter so if I add something nothing else will change or move.

Actually, Yes

Here's one way:

  1. Type & set out the base template or form first
  2. Press Alt + Print Screen together
  3. Open Paint/Paintbrush and paste the captured screen shot
  4. Trim the image to the desired size and information
  5. Copy the new image and paste it in a Word document
  6. Select format picture - Layout then choose "Behind Text"

You have now set up the unmoving text as a background image and can type all over it to your heart's content, without moving anything.

Hope this helps.

There are various ways that this can be done in Word. One is to place a text box on top of the page and put the new text in there.

Another is to use tables, columns, and tabs to help keep your page layout clean from the beginning.

If you are doing a lot of this sort of work though MS Publisher will give you more page-layout flexibility than Word will.

If you have big spaces in your document, press the insert key and start typing any place. When you type you will basically overwrite the spaces (and text if you keep typing- sort of like a typewriter!)

AK that is an improper use of an adjective. You cannot use "do nothing" with "asswipe", because asswipe indicates having some degree of dexterity, which in the instance would appear to be lacking. Might I recommend "pompous dickhead" as a general description?

BTW, how good is BYU this weekend?

I think in this case it is okay as he is using a noun (asswipe -- probably a used one considering who is being described) as an adjective. Some less Chuck-like examples: "bean soup", "rose garden", "can opener"....

Fuck and motherfuck BYU and those bitches. They're getting a fucking Bowl Game win or lose. Shit. Good God I hope we win this Saturday. BTW, I called him an asswipe not an asswiper. I doubt the fucking cunt wipes his ass, but he does resemble the residue from an ass that has been wiped.
